September is the month of Teruel Ham

Every year for more than 35 years, in the month of September, a large number of activities are held around an event, such as the ham cutters contest, the Jam-On Fest music festival, gastroworkshops, delivery of crumbs, the provincial tapas contest made with D.O Teruel ham, the Tunnel of flavor or the product market.

In addition, within the framework of the Ham and Quality Food Fairs, professional meetings are held for the industrialists of the Denomination of Origin Jamón de Teruel with professional distributors / butchers mainly from Madrid but also from the Basque Country, Valencia, Zaragoza and Catalonia.

"We are truffle land"

The Teruel Association of Tourism Entrepreneurs in collaboration with Atruter, Association of Truffle Growers and Truffle Collectors of the Province of Teruel organize these days, claiming the role of the Province of Teruel as one of the places where you can best enjoy the aroma and flavor of this gastronomic treasure.

A total of 42 establishments between bars and restaurants participated this year in this gastronomic initiative from February 9 to March 5. An event that has been developing in the province of Teruel for eleven consecutive years, coinciding with the final stage of the collection of this fungus and when the tuber melanosporum presents its most optimal state of maturity.

Perolico Route

Under the slogan "the best is inside..." the warmest gastronomic route invites you to go out for tapas in the City of Teruel, enjoying the most traditional cuisine. From March 23 to April 2, about 30 establishments bet on offering spoon tapas served in the traditional perolico Teruel.

The green and white ceramics with tradition in Teruel since the thirteenth century, is again the protagonist of this route. An initiative organized by Teruel Tourism Entrepreneurs and framed in the annual calendar that the association has scheduled throughout the year.

Teruel Ham Tapas Contest

The Tapas Jamón de Teruel contest celebrates 20 consecutive years where bars and restaurants bet every year to offer their best tapa with Teruel Ham as the protagonist. It is the most anticipated contest, where coinciding with the Ham Fair, the contest also puts in value in each edition the main tourist landmarks of the province.

Paleontology, astrotourism, love, cinema, motorcycle routes, hiking or the Teruel airport itself, have been protagonists throughout the 20 editions. The contest recovers the best of each edition and will continue to value the star product of the province of Teruel.

Teruel Cheese Route

Together with the Association of Milk and Cheese Producers of Teruel, the hoteliers of the province of Teruel organize throughout the month of May, the Cheese Route, where you can enjoy varied tables with Teruel cheeses, but also tapas, skewers and dishes on the menu with Cheese as the main ingredient.

Among the cheeses will not miss the Teruel brand cheese in a lobed way and perfect to make a beautiful cheese board with a lot of "Love".

Modern Love Croquettes Contest

The gastronomic calendar closes with this Croquettes contest, where Love and modernism go hand in hand. Coinciding with the Modernist Week and concluding with the celebration of the Congress of Love, the bars fill their bars with love and modernism, making a ration of croquettes "that falls in love with those who taste them", turning Teruel in those days into the week of "c(r)oqueteo" by the city.
