LA VAQUILLA MUSEUM
The aim of this museum is to create a place with contents
that explain the story and meaning of our Festival. It is a
modern space, with distinctive design and explanatory
panels, display stands and things given by the Turolenses.
All of them show us reasons of the Festival that were hidden
or had been forgotten.
The installation of the Vaquilla Museum is made into two
thematic spaces with a remarkable difference. The route
starts in the area reserved for the bullfighting staff. The
prominent figures of “toreo” Turolense, the elements of the
bullfighting and the history of the bullring, that is the
history of our city.
Next to this thematic area, we can go to the next part of
this installation: The Vaquilla del Angel describes us step
by step the three days that this Festival lasts. From the
beginning with the Salve of the Guardian Angel –Salve del
Angel Custodio, going on with the Auction of the Boxes, the
Little Bell (Campaníco) and the setting of the
scarf to El Torico, the traditional snack on Sunday
evening, the “toro ensogado”, and the history of the
old and new “peñas”
Date of opening: the first Friday of April.
Closing date: Last Sunday of October.
Timetables:
Friday. From 18.00 to 20.00
Saturday from 11.00 to 14.00
18.00 to 20.00
Sunday from 11.00 to 14.00
